Starting the conversation

Alcohol and substance abuse can put a strain on any relationship. Some people struggling with addiction recognize the problem and are willing to seek treatment. But, many others are unable to see the issue and unwilling to make a change or have a conversation about addiction.

Talking about addiction with someone you care about can be difficult. It requires a lot of strength and vulnerability to break the ice and to be persistent. It’s also a careful balance between encouraging someone to get help and pushing them too hard.

We are here to help. Many of us at Tulip Hill have personal experience with alcohol and substance abuse, and we can help prepare you to have that hard conversation with someone you care about. We have walked through the recovery process, and we can walk with you through how to talk to your loved one and how to encourage them on their path to recovery.

Do you need to talk to someone about

getting help for a loved one?

While you may be a great friend or family member to someone who is struggling with addiction, no one expects you to be an expert on addiction recovery. That can require years of training and experience, and a well of patience and understanding, which is what we have at Tulip Hill Recovery. If someone you care about is struggling with addiction, please contact us online or call us at 877-845-8192 to get in touch with our team to talk to someone about the next steps.

"This program did more than save my life, it gave me one worth living. Through working with the clinical team as well as the rest of the staff I was able to find the things that were getting in the way of me living a drug-free life. The structure of the program helped lay the groundwork for my new life by creating a healthy routine and motivating me to put action towards bettering myself. Thanks to Tulip Hill Recovery's staff and their efforts to help me begin my new life, I’ve been inspired to give back by working with others suffering from substance abuse."
