What is Drug Addiction Rehab Like?

Home Blog What is Drug Addiction Rehab Like?

When you’re struggling with a drug addiction, we understand you might not be enthusiastic about admitting you have a problem and seeking treatment. However, doing this can be the first step you take toward freeing yourself from addiction and taking back control of your life.

At Tulip Hill Recovery, we want to see you succeed and strive for a brighter future. All you have to do is take that first step and let addiction recovery professionals help you along the way.

If you have never attempted to recover from addiction before or want to better understand what to expect, take a look below for a typical outline of drug addiction rehab at Tulip Hill.

Initial Treatment

The first phase of treatment is partial hospitalization (PHP). During this phase, you are given 24/7 clinical and medical care to help you achieve positive results in stopping your use of substances. Besides 24/7 supervision and clinical recovery assistance, PHP also includes several weekly sessions of mental health therapy.

Tulip Hill takes the dual diagnosis approach for treating addiction. This approach involves mental health professionals who specialize in helping you develop healthy coping mechanisms for any mental health disorders that may be fueling your addiction, such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Continued Treatment and Recovery

Ideally, after 30 days of PHP, you’ll transition into 60 days of intensive outpatient (IOP). During this time, you go through many of the same clinical programs and mental health sessions you were introduced to during PHP, but there is more of an emphasis on rebuilding an independent life.

You go through group therapy and individual case management as continued support and accountability for your recovery. Additionally, our staff and members of our alumni program can help you work on job resumes and arrange transportation for interviews and for work.

Life after Treatment

Recovery is a lifelong journey. Even with quality addiction recovery services and mental health therapy, relapse is always a possibility. At Tulip Hill, we want to see you succeed in recovery and find freedom from active addiction. We are always a source of community and support for you to help you through your recovery journey. Our team and alumni members can help you adjust back to an independent life in the real world and are available to talk if you feel yourself struggling with wanting to use substances or alcohol.
